Our People

The Community

Various hands holding a tree, as symbol of community.

Community is so foundational at Common Earth that we focus first on our broader community rather than on our core team, as you might expect. Ours is comprised of thoughtful people from around the world passionate about understanding the complexities of climate change and how we can move toward a post-carbon, caring society globally. A shared understanding and language are built through participation in the courses and are expanded upon through activities and in an online forum where people can collaborate and support one another.

He has experience in healthcare, technology, and media. He holds an undergraduate degree in Engineering from Universidad Simon Bolivar in Venezuela, and a Master’s degree from MIT’s Sloan School of Management.

Facilitator

Ekta Bromley

Ekta Bromley is a rather curious human being (pun fully intended) who prefers to ‘go far together’ rather than to ‘go fast alone.’ She has worked in adult education, facilitation, coaching, and leadership development for about a decade now (2022), and prior to this, she was a high school teacher. Her roles within the Common Earth community include “participant” and “facilitator”, and as a proponent of participatory methods, she deeply appreciates the sense of agency steering this community’s actions.

In 2020 Sarah joined David in his efforts to create a space where people can grapple with how we can move to a post-carbon caring society. She was so moved by her own experience, as well as the impact she witnessed it having on others, that she quit her job to focus entirely on helping to grow the Common Earth community.  When not working on Common Earth efforts, you can find her reading or on her bike. She and her husband believe strongly in the power of community and love nothing more than hosting the many friends and family they share.
